Handmade paper is a sheet of paper or board produced by hand. The raw materials used for making handmade paper are waste products of textile industries, locally available waste fibers and recycled secondary fibers. Most of the Hand Made Paper units in India use cotton rags, both white and colored or waste paper. While plant fibers (Banana , jute etc.) require cooking & bleaching and the effluent from it needs treatment. Handmade papermaking units can produce specialty papers. The demand of which are limited and therefore uneconomical to produce on a conventional paper machine. The Hand made paper is used in decorative items and the paper board is used for file covers and many more articles.
